Last Friday was Bring Your Sons & Daughters to work day. I brought Delaney and Jaiden to see the Freedom Center where I work. They enjoyed a day of tours and presentations. Their favorite presentations were the Bomb Dog and the FAMS Weapons Training Simulator. Both got to use the simulator and did very well with it. Delaney and Jaiden are right in the center of this picture (Delaney pink and Jaiden green/white). At the right of the picture is a display that is seen when you first walk through the door. This display consists of a steel beam from the World Trade Center that was bent into the shape of a ribbon, in the center is a piece of US Airways Flight 93 that went down in Pennsylvania, and the bottom is rubble from the Pentagon. It serves as a great reminder to the role of TSA in Homeland Security.

Jaiden's First T-Ball game
Jaiden's first T-Ball game was today. He had a good game. Both hits were solid. He had the highlight reel play of the game. The final batter of the inning gets to clear the bases. The batter hit the ball to shortstop and Jaiden moved up to field it. He tagged out the runner going from 2nd to 3rd then tagged out the runner that started at 1st for an unassisted double play. It was a heads up play by the boy to keep playing even though he had already tagged one player out.

Easter Sunday
We woke up this morning and attended the morning service at church so the Easter Bunny would have time to visit us. When we got home the kids baskets were full and there were Eggs hidden in the yard. They immediately ran around the yard to gather their loot. Delaney noticed her surprise gift from the Easter Bunny first. She got a new pair of roller blades. Right beside those was a new bike for Jaiden. He was super excited. But that was only the tip of the mountain. When we came inside we had breakfast for lunch and let the kids go through their baskets. The pain of waiting was too much to bear so we sent them downstairs to find their gift from Mommy and Daddy. After letting them look for a minute they came upstairs and found Disney Princesses and Backyard Baseball at the top of the stairs. But wait, the X-Box isn't working anymore. So what could they possibly play them on?? Last picture in this post gives the answer. Both screamed and Jaiden looked like he just won the Superbowl. I swear, the kid was actually shaking he was so excited. He even spiked the Backyard Baseball game.

Spring Break
Yes, you got it. SPRING BREAK!!!! For Spring Break we took the kids to visit their Great Grandmother in snowy Pittsburgh. OK. So it just snowed a little bit Monday night and a lot Tuesday morning but it still snowed. Anyways, the kids got to visit Mema on Monday afternoon. Much to my surprise, Quinn sat right with her and didn't squirm or cry. Mema seemed very upbeat. Monday was ice-cream social day so the kids also got to have ice-cream with her. We woke up Tuesday morning to snow and drove through it most of the way home. We had a couple of flurries in Leesburg but nothing major. So that is the beginning of our Spring Break. More to come later depending on if I carry the camera around with me or not.
