Happy New Year! Welcome 2014

The kids headed back to school today.  It was a really tough morning (for me....they did great!)  But, it appears my alarm clock can be turned off again.  SNOW DAY tomorrow!!  It started snowing around 2:00 pm and became an icy mess this evening.

Path of good intentions....

Where has time gone? So many good intentions, but not so great on the follow through.

Today was a big day....
Our baby attended kindergarten orientation.  She was able to see the classrooms and ride the bus around the neighborhood.  And mamma didn't cry (teary eyes don't count as crying, right).

January 2012

Goals for 2012
Eat more and exercise less (not sure that is possible)....well, I was so successful at these resolutions for 2011, I thought I would carry them over.

Seriously, one of my goals for 2012 is to better chronicle our family life. We have years of pictures on our computer's hard drive with no photo albums or scrapbooks to prove it. So, I am hoping to keep things up to date on this blog and print a book at the end of the year. Easy peasy, lemon squeezey (as Jaiden likes to say). I am also hoping it will encourage me to pull out the camera and take more pictures. And maybe even learn the photoshop software program I purchased this summer and haven't even played with **GASP**

With that said, I have no pictures to add to this post. Failure on day one....so sad, I know!

Happy New Year!

Last Storm Game

Jaiden had his last T-Ball Storm game this past weekend. He played 2nd Base in the 1st inning, Right Field in the 2nd inning and Pitcher in the final inning. Jaiden had a good game scooping up everything that came his way and even managed to make a few outs in the process. The season is over, so it's now time to get ready for some summer fun (and continue to practice some baseball, AND start getting ready for Flag Football).

Ida Lee Water Park

Ida Lee opened a new water park last Month. We made our first trip over today before the thunderstorm rolled in. Quinn really loved the lazy river. She kept smiling and waving at the lifeguards as we floated by and she kept trying to lean over the tube to splash the water.

Just Quinny

OK. Jaiden and Delaney got their posts for today. So Quinn gets hers too.

Jaidens Bat-A-Thon

Jaiden participated in the Central Loudoun Little League's Bat-A-Thon today. Each kid got to hit 10 balls and received points for how far they hit the balls. He also had picture day as well. Here are some pictures from his day.

Church Childrens Choir

Delaney singing in Church Childrens Choir this morning at Harmony United Methodist Church. Delaney sings first and we caught Quinn jamming too.

Picture Day at Loudoun Dance Academy

Loudoun Dance Academy had picture day today for their current programs. Delaney is in a Ballet and Jazz group. Here are some pictures from todays picture taking event.

Storm Photos from Game 2 / Game 3 news

These are some pictures from the Storm's 2nd game of the season last week. Jaiden is doing good. Today was our third game. Jaiden had a couple of nice plays in the third inning from the pitching mound. Good fielding and throws to third base to get some "outs". For clarification, we don't count outs in t-ball. Even if a kid is out he still gets to run the bases.

Bring Your Sons & Daughters to Work

Last Friday was Bring Your Sons & Daughters to work day. I brought Delaney and Jaiden to see the Freedom Center where I work. They enjoyed a day of tours and presentations. Their favorite presentations were the Bomb Dog and the FAMS Weapons Training Simulator. Both got to use the simulator and did very well with it. Delaney and Jaiden are right in the center of this picture (Delaney pink and Jaiden green/white). At the right of the picture is a display that is seen when you first walk through the door. This display consists of a steel beam from the World Trade Center that was bent into the shape of a ribbon, in the center is a piece of US Airways Flight 93 that went down in Pennsylvania, and the bottom is rubble from the Pentagon. It serves as a great reminder to the role of TSA in Homeland Security.

Picture of the kids. You can click on the picture to make it larger so you can see the kids better.

Jaiden's First T-Ball game

Jaiden's first T-Ball game was today. He had a good game. Both hits were solid. He had the highlight reel play of the game. The final batter of the inning gets to clear the bases. The batter hit the ball to shortstop and Jaiden moved up to field it. He tagged out the runner going from 2nd to 3rd then tagged out the runner that started at 1st for an unassisted double play. It was a heads up play by the boy to keep playing even though he had already tagged one player out.

Easter Sunday

We woke up this morning and attended the morning service at church so the Easter Bunny would have time to visit us. When we got home the kids baskets were full and there were Eggs hidden in the yard. They immediately ran around the yard to gather their loot. Delaney noticed her surprise gift from the Easter Bunny first. She got a new pair of roller blades. Right beside those was a new bike for Jaiden. He was super excited. But that was only the tip of the mountain. When we came inside we had breakfast for lunch and let the kids go through their baskets. The pain of waiting was too much to bear so we sent them downstairs to find their gift from Mommy and Daddy. After letting them look for a minute they came upstairs and found Disney Princesses and Backyard Baseball at the top of the stairs. But wait, the X-Box isn't working anymore. So what could they possibly play them on?? Last picture in this post gives the answer. Both screamed and Jaiden looked like he just won the Superbowl. I swear, the kid was actually shaking he was so excited. He even spiked the Backyard Baseball game.

Coloring Easter Eggs

Last night we prepared for the Easter Bunny by coloring our Easter Eggs and putting a note with a carrot out for him. The kids had fun preparing their Eggs. We had a broken one or 2 but they got the job done while Quinn supervised from the side.
